Hello, my name is Melody, although everyone calls me Mel, and I am an Apprentice Dental Nurse here at Devon Dentists.

I really enjoy being part of a caring and supportive team, where every day brings new opportunities to learn and develop my skills.

I love helping patients feel comfortable and reassured during their visits, especially those who may be feeling a little nervous.

I am passionate about providing kind, attentive care and making every patient's experience as positive as possible.

Mel's Story

Mel began her journey into dental nursing in April 2025, bringing with her a strong background in customer service and a keen interest in healthcare.

Before entering dentistry, Mel worked in retail, where she developed excellent communication, teamwork and organisational skills. Working in a busy, customer-focused environment taught her the importance of patience, understanding and making people feel valued.

Mel has always had an interest in healthcare and previously completed an Access to Higher Education course in Nursing, Midwifery and Medical Science at Petroc College, achieving Distinctions in Biology, Psychology and Health Studies.

In 2025, she decided to pursue a career in dental nursing and began gaining valuable hands-on experience assisting dentists during a variety of treatments, supporting patients and learning the importance of maintaining high standards of hygiene and infection control.

Mel joined Devon Dentists in July 2026, where she continues her dental nursing apprenticeship and develops her clinical knowledge and practical skills. She particularly enjoys the variety that dental nursing brings and the opportunity to support patients throughout their treatment journey.

With her friendly nature, caring approach and enthusiasm for learning, Mel is a valued member of our team and looks forward to continuing her professional development and building a rewarding career in dentistry.
