Keeping our patients and staff safe

Our dental practice and staff keeps accurate, complete and up to date records of patient’s treatments.

We always have enough staff on duty with the right knowledge, skills and experience to make sure all patients are safe.

The premises and equipment are kept clean and hygienic to prevent any risk of infection to all patients.

If staff have any concerns about safety, they raise them and the practice always makes sure to follow and address them accordingly. Our practice will record any incidents that happen and, if any complaint is made by patients or staff, the practice deals with it in the right way.

Complaint procedure will be clearly explained to all patients should this be appropriate to the situation.

Our dental practice has policies and protocols in place which staff follows for the management of all treatments and medical emergencies. Practice policies are in place so staff have good awareness of safeguarding issues and annual training is provided to ensure appropriate knowledge is maintained.

We provide effective service

Our dental practice provides evidence-based care in accordance with relevant and published guidance from the GDC.

We monitor our patient’s oral health and give appropriate health promoting advice. Staff will always discuss the reasons for patient’s appointments with them. Our staff is knowledgeable, aware of patient’s medical history and always explains treatment options to patients as well as any costs involved to ensure that patients can make informed decisions about what treatment is best for them.

When patients make decisions about their treatment, they will not be discriminated against, e.g. because of their age, sex (gender), gender identity, disability, race, religion or belief, or sexuality.

The practice will refer patients to more specialist services if patients need them. When this happens, the practice passes on all patient’s relevant medical information.

Our staff is engaged in continuous professional development to ensure they are meeting the training requirements of the GDC. New staff receive an induction and go through a probationary process to review their performance and to understand their training needs.

Our service is caring

Our staff treats patients with dignity and respect at all times.

All dentists, nurses and support staff take time to listen to all patients and involve them in making decisions about their care. Detailed explanation of all procedures and options is always given to each patient before any treatment takes place. Patients are always given enough time to think and ask questions before agreeing to care and treatment.

The practice ensures that each patient has enough privacy and all treatments are dealt with the highest confidentiality.

Should patient(s) experience any pain, distress or discomfort, staff will respond in the appropriate way to minimalise these feelings, procedures will not be rushed or done under pressure.

Our practice has systems in place for patients to leave feedback anonymously through internal surveys and social media. There are complaints procedures clearly outlined.

We ensure our service is responsive

Appointments are scheduled at times that suit patients as much as possible.

The appointment system is easy to use and patients can get emergency treatment, Patients will have good access to appointments with a possibility to be placed on a short cancellation list for urgent treatments. Emergency appointments are available on the same day.

The practice asks all patients what they think about the service and we consider each patient’s different needs when planning services. Patient feedback as well as testimonials are recorded through a comments book in the practice reception area. Patient's feedback is used to improve the services at the practice.

Staff take account of things such as patient’s age, religion or disability and make adjustments where they can.

The practice tries to avoid delays and tries not to keep patients waiting too long for an appointment.

It is easy for patients to make a complaint. The practice tells patients what to do if they are not happy with the outcome of their complaint.

The practice has two ground floor surgeries to ensure patients with limited mobility have access to dental care.

Our dental practice is designed to be spacious and fit for purpose in line with statutory requirements and take account of national best practice.

At our dental practice, we prioritize the safety of our patients and staff by maintaining a clean and secure environment. Our state-of-the-art equipment is regularly inspected by external specialised company to ensure its full functionality and continuous high standard of performance.

All equipment is cleaned, decontaminated and/or sterilised after each use and between use by different individuals in line with current legislation and guidance and manufacturers' instructions.. This is to ensure optimal performance and hygiene. We follow strict protocols to that all premises adhere to health and safety standards.

All staff who operate any specialised equipment is well trained in order to use it appropriately.

We have operational policies and procedures and maintenance budgets to maintain our equipment and premises.

Our patients well-being is our top priority, and we are committed to providing a safe and comfortable experience during each visits.
